Takemi Kitamura<\/strong>: Native of Osaka, Japan, graduated Phi Beta Kappa<\/em> with a BA in Dance-Education from Hunter College where she received the Choreographic Award from the Dance Program.<\/p>\n

Her work has been presented at St. Marks Church, HERE, BAX\/Brooklyn Arts Exchange, BRIC Studio,WAX\/Williamsburg Art neXus, South Oxford Space, Lexington Center for the Arts in Lexingtom, and Thomas Hunter Hall.<\/p>\n

As a dancer, she has worked with numerous choreographers and companies, such as Sondra Loring, Sally Silvers<\/a>, Nami Yamamoto<\/a>, Risa Jaroslow Dancers<\/a>, Christopher Williams<\/a>, and The BodyCartgraphy Project<\/a>, to name a few. Her recent credit includes The Indian Queen<\/em> by Dir. Peter Sellars<\/a>.<\/p>\n

She also works as a puppeteer. Her credits includes such as The Oldest Boy<\/em> <\/a>@ Lincoln Center Theater<\/a>, 69\u00b0S<\/em>\u00a0,<\/a>\u00a0Memory Rings, <\/a>\u00a0and Falling Out<\/a> by Phantom Limb Company<\/a> , Blood Moon<\/a> by Beth Morrison Project @ Prototype Festival,\u00a0Demolishing Everything with Amazing Speed<\/em> by Dan Hurlin<\/a>, Stravinsky’s Firebird<\/em> @ Avery Fisher Hall, Lincoln Center by The Little Orchestra Society<\/a>, and Shank’s Mare<\/em><\/a> by Tom Lee<\/a> and Koryu Nishikawa V<\/a>.<\/p>\n

She was a member and performed as leading roles in Samurai Sword Soul, Japanese sword fighting theater company for eight years.
